In the Philippines, the CECI’s Volunteer Cooperation Program advances women’s economic empowerment in key sectors such as the green economy, rural agriculture, and the blue economy. This is achieved by working alongside partners to strengthen women and youth-led SMEs, cooperatives and social enterprises in sustainable agricultural value-chains. Through collaboration with Canadian volunteers and partners, the program enhances access to accelerators, innovation, finance, markets as well as gender inclusive and climate-resilient practices.

L’Institut pour l’entrepreneuriat social en Asie (ISEA) est un réseau d’apprentissage et d’action créé en 2008 par des entreprises sociales, des institutions de soutien à l’entrepreneuriat social ainsi que des chercheurs, afin de stimuler la création de connaissances, le renforcement des capacités, le développement de plateformes et la mobilisation d’un mouvement en faveur de l’entrepreneuriat social.
Functions
The main partner organization (under contract) for this assignment is Institute for Social Entrepreneurship Asia (ISEA) and Peace and Equity Foundation, Inc. (PEF), but the volunteer will also support other partner organizations of the Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP).
Provide strategic and technical advice on integrating circular economy principles into organizational programs, projects, and institutional strategies.
Support the design, refinement, and implementation of circular economy programs that promote sustainable production and consumption, resource efficiency, and responsible materials management.
Advise the development of circular business models, sustainable value chains, and innovative approaches that advance environmental, social, and economic outcomes.
Participate in the development of technical guides, toolkits, manuals, training curricula, and other capacity-building resources on circular economy and sustainable resource management for use by staff, partners, businesses, communities, and policymakers.
Provide technical input in the development of new program concepts, project proposals, and technical approaches aligned with emerging circular economy priorities and opportunities.
Support research, policy analysis, and evidence generation to inform program design, advocacy, and knowledge of products.
Review and provide technical recommendations on program frameworks, technical materials, and learning resources to ensure they reflect current best practices and global standards.
Contribute to the documentation and dissemination of case studies, lessons learned, innovations, and impact stories that demonstrate effective circular economy practices.
Cross-cutting ResponsabilitiesSystematically integrate gender equality, human rights, and diversity approaches into all activities, ensuring the participation and representation of women and young women throughout all initiatives.
Integrate environmental issues and climate change adaptation in all activities.
Make sure to respect, at all times, the organization's guides, manuals, guidelines, or instructions related to security and safety.
Take the necessary means to ensure your own security, namely by establishing an individual risk mitigation plan in your place of assignment.
Participate in communication activities designed to share your volunteering experience with those around you and raise awareness of international solidarity issues.
Organize or support a fundraising event to contribute to community efforts. You will have access to the necessary tools and the support of a resource person throughout your mandate.
Write the reports required by the partner organization and the CECI program.
Required skills
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, public policy, business administration, or related field.
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in circular economy, resource efficiency, sustainable production and consumption, environmental sustainability, or related fields.
Experience in program design and development, including the preparation of technical proposals, implementation frameworks, or strategic initiatives.
Experience developing technical guides, toolkits, manuals, training materials, or capacity-building resources.
Excellent facilitation, communication in English, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Analytical and systems-thinking abilities, with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical guidance.
