Functions

The volunteer will support several partner organizations of the Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP).

  • Contribute to the development of an inclusive mapping of key stakeholders within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, both in Quebec and in the country of assignment, with particular attention to initiatives led by women, young women, and groups in vulnerable situations.

  • Identify and analyze collaboration opportunities (business partnerships, joint programs, business networks, mentoring, technical and financial support, etc.) between entrepreneurs from both regions, while promoting inclusive and equitable approaches.

  • Conduct a gender-sensitive analysis of the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, highlighting structural barriers, inequalities in access (to financing, training, and networks), enabling factors, social innovations, and support actors.

  • Recommend strategic avenues for international partnerships, particularly with Quebec-based organizations active in inclusive finance, impact investing, social innovation, and entrepreneurial support.

  • Support the co-development of a strategic roadmap aimed at strengthening women's investment and inclusive entrepreneurship, integrating local realities and collaboration opportunities with Quebec, as well as mechanisms that foster the inclusion of young entrepreneurs, including those in vulnerable situations.

  • Systematically integrate gender equality, human rights, and diversity approaches into all activities, ensuring the participation and representation of women and young women throughout all initiatives.

  • Integrate environmental issues and climate change adaptation in all activities.

  • Make sure to respect, at all times, the organization's guides, manuals, guidelines, or instructions related to security and safety.

  • Take the necessary means to ensure your own security, namely by establishing an individual risk mitigation plan in your place of assignment.

  • Participate in communication activities designed to share your volunteering experience with those around you and raise awareness of international solidarity issues.

  • Organize or support a fundraising event to contribute to community efforts. You will have access to the necessary tools and the support of a resource person throughout your mandate.

  • Write the reports required by the partner organization and the CECI program. 

 


Required skills

  • University degree in Finance, Entrepreneurship, International Development, Management, Economics, or a related field.

  • Specialization or additional training in Gender Studies, Social Innovation, or International Partnerships is considered an asset.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting women's entrepreneurship, economic development, or international cooperation initiatives.

  • Strong experience in partnership management and business network development, ideally in an international context.

  • Good understanding of issues related to women's entrepreneurship, as well as inclusive financing mechanisms.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct strategic assessments, prepare reports, and facilitate partnerships.

  • Strong listening skills, analytical thinking, autonomy, and the ability to work effectively in an intercultural environment.

  • Excellent written communication skills in English, French is an asset. 

  • Self-motivated, creative, and proactive, with a strong sense of initiative.

  • Suivi continu, accompagnement et mesures de sécurité assurées par l’équipe du CECI
  • Mise en pratique de vos compétences professionnelles pour appuyer des initiatives locales.
Post-mandat

Après la fin de votre mandat, vous poursuivez votre engagement et capitalisez sur votre expérience :

  • Retour au Canada et bilan individuel
  • Activité d’engagement du public à compléter
  • Engagement dans le réseau des ancien-ne-s volontaires
  • Opportunités de partage d’expériences, mentorat et participation à des activités du CECI
