Le CECI vise à améliorer le bien-être économique et social des personnes les plus pauvres et les plus marginalisées en Afrique, en Asie et dans les Amériques, grâce à l'appui de volontaires. Transformative Leadership Advisor

Functions

  • The primary partner organization for this assignment is the National Women’s Council; however, the volunteer will also support other partner organizations, including, but not limited to, the PSF Specialized Cluster.  
  • Contribute to the development of operational plans for the African Women Leaders' Network (AWLN) and assess the effectiveness of interventions in relation to the network's goals.  
  • Propose initiatives to empower girls and women by providing technical input for the implementation of action plans developed by the Women and Girls Commission.  
  • Collaborate with AWLN to facilitate the functioning of its work plan, ensuring the successful implementation of the Women Economic Empowerment Commission.  
  • Provide technical guidance and advisory services to the network based on evidence-based analysis.  
  • Facilitate linkages between mentors and mentees, both online and through manual processes.  
  • Support the organization and facilitation of key meetings, such as the AWLN General Assembly, steering committee meetings, commission meetings, annual meetings, the AWLN summit, and ad hoc meetings as necessary.  
  • Assist the PSF Specialized Cluster in enhancing strategies that foster innovative projects and impactful initiatives related to girl and women entrepreneurs.  
  • Establish and cultivate connections with women's networks to exchange knowledge, learn from best practices, and propose effective programs and initiatives.  
  • Contribute to the development of mechanisms to strengthen strategic partnerships with various stakeholders involved in girls' and women's empowerment, aiming to create synergies and maximize impact.  
  • Participate in the effective implementation of programs and strategies of women economic empowerment by providing systematic guidance and support.  
  • Integrate gender equality into all activities, with a focus on the participation and representation of women and young women;  
  • Incorporate environmental issues and climate change adaptation into all activities;  
  • Comply with safety and protection guidelines, manuals, directives, or instructions at all times;  
  • Collaborate on writing articles, conducting activities, or participating in events that raise awareness among the Canadian public;  
  • Write the reports required by the partner organization and the CECI program.  

Required skills

  • A degree in Social Science, Social Work, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Business Administration, Project Management, Law, or other related fields.  
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Gender, Project Management, Development, or a related field.  
  • Experience in project proposal development, fundraising, and diversity and inclusion is a plus. Previous experience working in an international context is also considered an asset.  
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required for this position.  
  • Knowledge of French would be considered an additional asset.
