Program

CECI seeks to improve the social and economic well-being of the poorest, most disadvantaged people in communities in Africa, Asia and the Americas and volunteers are at the core of this work. Ensuring women and young women are empowered and fully play their role as agents of change for a sustainable, inclusive development is central to CECI's work. CECI volunteers work towards women and young women's economic empowerment and the climate change resilience of communities by sharing their skills and expertise and working hand in hand with local partners.

Gender Equality And Inclusion Advisor

In Rwanda, CECI supports the economic empowerment of vulnerable women: farmers and breeders, heads of household and young mothers, those living in refugee camps or involved in cross-border trade. Although considerable progress has been made towards gender equality in Rwanda, especially at the political level, the situation of women in at the household level requires effort. CECI volunteers work in collaboration with civil society organizations to improve women's economic opportunities. In collaboration with women's rights organizations, volunteers also support the creation of an enabling environment for gender equality.
